DDM Abbot President Spread the Dharma in Thailand to Express Loving Care

Dharma Drum Mountain (DDM) Association of Dharma Supporters in Thailand (ADST) organized the lectures "A World of Blessings" featuring Ven. Guo Huei (果暉法師), the Abbot President of DDM, respectively On October 4th, 2024 at 7pm at DDM Chon Buri Center of Thailand and on October 6th, 2024 at 10am at DDM Bangkok. The lectures were attended by distinguished guests including Porntip Chupini Jask (蘇林妙芬), the President of ADST; Lin-he Pei-jiuan (林何佩娟) and Jeng Jia-jin (鄭家進), two new Council Members of Overseas Community Affairs Council and former Presidents of Taiwan Association of Thailand; Guo Shiou-min (郭修敏) and Jeng Jen-guo (鄭振國), the former Presidents of Thai-Taiwan Business Association. In addition, many other Taiwanese business leaders as well as nearly 100 Dharma supporters and citizens came all the way to the lectures in order to seek the secret ingredient for attaining peace of body and mind.

Ven. Guo Huei made this trip to Thailand during October 2nd - 7th to extend his loving care for the followers by giving Dharma talks. In his talks, Ven. Guo Huei used YouTube videos to explain the meaning of Master Sheng Yen's quote, "The busy make the most of time; the diligent enjoy the best for health." In addition to sharing many fascinating stories as examples, Ven. Guo Huei humorously said that since modern life is very busy, those who were able to attend the lectures embodied "The busy make the most of time." He mentioned that well-known successful entrepreneurs, such as Wang Yung-ching of Taiwan, Masayoshi Son of SoftBank Group Corp., and Steve Jobs of Apple Inc., must be busy with their businesses. Nevertheless, they still can make good use of their time and have healthy lifestyle habits, such as exercising regularly, which shows that it is best to be diligent for the sake of health.

Ven. Guo Huei also quoted the subtitle of the annual theme –
– "with a calm body and mind, we have peace in every moment. In harmony with ourselves and others, we have blessings everywhere" –– as a guide for people to practice in daily life. He pointed out that we must recognize the fact that everything in the world is impermanent, and that everything that happens has a cause. The Chan practice of Buddhism is a practice to live in the present moment anytime and anywhere, through the process of engaging in meditation and spiritual cultivation. When our mind is settled, we can enjoy true peace.
