DDM Offers Resources to Chinese-language School in Myanmar for its Restoration

Four campuses of Mandalay Kongjiao School, the biggest Chinese-language school in Myanmar, are damaged due to the powerful earthquake. On the evening of April 5^th, 2025, the disaster relief team of the Dharma Drum Mountain (DDM) Social Welfare and Charity Foundation (here referred to as "the Foundation"), visited the school to express loving-care as well as present supplies. 

The disaster relief team learned from School President Ding Tze-min (丁澤民) and Yang Han-yin (楊涵茵) that their campus in Mandalay is severely damaged--especially its northern part, where a five-storey building was razed to the ground in an instant, causing the deaths of teachers and students in the disaster. Ven. Chang Xing (常惺法師), Secretary General of the Foundation, and the accompanying volunteers recited the name of Guanyin Bodhisattva to pray for the deceased and hoped that the people in hardship could soon leave their suffering behind. 


Ven. Chang Xing indicated that since DDM is an organization that promotes education, the Foundation will make proper adjustments in its subsequent disaster relief plans for the Kongjiao School after it resumes its operation in early June, in order to provide resources and assistance for the school's need for various teaching aids and post-traumatic psychological reconstruction.
