Rediscovering the Joy of Meditation: A Transformative Experience of Wisdom and Stability
In 2017, I stumbled into my first meditation session unprepared, drawn more by curiosity than expectation. Little did I know that this serendipitous encounter with a silent 5-day Theravada Buddhism meditation retreat would profoundly shift my perspective. Immersed in introspection, I confronted the fundamental question, "Who am I?" as I navigated the intricacies of self-awareness and the impermanence of existence.

Fast forward to a recent meditation class at Dharma Drum Mountain in Vancouver, facilitated by the insightful instructor Tom, where I rediscovered the profound joy of meditation. Through a series of practices, ranging from sitting meditation to moving meditation, I found solace in the tranquility of body and mind, nurturing wisdom and stability within. Instructor Tom's guidance, along with the shared experiences of fellow practitioners, enriched this transformative journey.
Meditation, often seen as a fleeting practice amidst life's chaos, serves as a powerful tool for inner cleansing and rejuvenation. Just as a computer requires periodic clearing of clutter to function optimally, meditation offers a reset, allowing us to shed unnecessary layers and embrace newfound wisdom and clarity.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all who made this enriching meditation experience possible. Together, we embarked on a voyage of self-discovery, fostering inner peace, stability, and profound wisdom.
