Experience sharing
Reflection for the Seven-day Bilingual Retreat with Gilbert by Péter
Generally it was a really good experience for me. The atmosphere of the DDM is magical. But it's not a magical thing. It's "just" great compassion, which comes from the deep realization. You can see the great compassion on the monastics, on the volunteers, on the temples and statues, and the wonderful environment.
The organisation of the retreat was perfect!
"We were the rice at the bowl, and they were the bowl" everyone helped us to grow, and hold space very well.
Gilbert is a great teacher, who told us the sutras so profoundly, which comes from his inner realisation. He also had very direct interpretations, who moved the sutras from the philosophical world to the practical world. I think everyone can find teachings that are good for the level of his or her practice.
I came here to grow my meditation and realise some changings. Before the retreat, I try to, for example, eat not too heavy food and not so much, and practice more.
Here I realise I have to work on it, and practice much more, not just in sitting posture, when I walk, eat, drink, sleep etc. I tried it every single moment.
Gilbert told us if you put in so much hard work, the hardest practice of your life you can realise something.
That was totally true!
