Learning Wisdom through the Buddhist Parables

The Buddha often taught the Dharma through a wide range of parables.
Using things from our daily experience as analogies, the Buddha revealed truths that people had never encountered before.
Through vivid and evocative examples, he illuminated abstract and intangible concepts.
Using concrete and easily understandable examples, he clarified the deeper meanings of the Dharma that are often difficult to grasp.
Through his skillful metaphors, the Buddha awakened the minds of all beings to the light of wisdom.

Metaphor is like a ship that carries us across into the depths of wisdom.
It is like the first light of dawn breaking through the morning mist, bringing clarity and luminosity.
It is like the sweetness that coats a bitter medicine, making it easier for us to consume.
When we come to understand the Dharma through the parables, we take a step forward on the path of awakening.
We should not forget to leave the ship behind, so that others can find passage upon it as well.
The ship of the Dharma parables carries countless beings to the farther shore of wisdom.
